Approximately 70 people attended the Soule Kindred 50 year anniversary reunion held in Plymouth MA, September 8-11, 2017. Some highlights of the reunion were:
Re-enactors from the Plimoth Plantation attended the Friday evening reception; Richard Pickering, Deputy Executive Director of Plimoth Plantation and Viki Oman, Director of Education for Plimoth Plantation, played the roles of George Soule and Mary Beckett and were very authentic and entertaining.
We dedicated a garden and plaque at the King Caesar House, in Duxbury, to the memory of George Soule and Mary Beckett (picture on the right). Following the dedication, we toured the King Caesar House, ate our box lunches in the garden and then toured Duxbury.
Saturday evening we gathered for a Pilgrim buffet and a presentation by Caleb Johnson on the research being conducted on the origins of George Soule.
Tours of Plimoth Plantation and Cape Cod, meals together, General Society of Mayflower Descendants events, visits to the Mayflower House, Pilgrim Hall Museum and Burial Hill were enjoyed by many attendees as well.
