Soule Kindred: 50 Years and Going Strong!!!
Soule Kindred 50th Anniversary Reunion: September 8-10 in Plymouth/Duxbury, MA.
The Soule Kindred in America 50th Anniversary Reunion will be held September 8-10, 2017 in Plymouth, MA, at Hotel 1620.
It's time to get yourself ready for this very special reunion. Tell your boss you need that time off, let your kids' schools know your children/grandchildren will not be there for those days and make your reservations. We have a myriad of unique and interesting events planned for our Soule family members and their guests. Don't miss out on the fun!
Soule Kindred is thrilled to welcome historical researchers, Caleb Johnson and Simon Neal, as our featured guest speakers. This dynamic duo will be sharing a detailed report on the SKA-funded research project to find the origins of George Soule and Mary Beckett. Caleb and Simon will describe the project, their findings and the future of their research. In addition, SKA Research Committee Chair, Marcy Kelly, will present on the DNA project as it relates to the research, and we will learn more about the Soule Family Tree Database.
Another exciting event will be a garden dedication in Duxbury. Soule Kindred is funding the upgrade of one of the gardens at the King Caesar House in Duxbury. The house was built in 1809 by Ezra "King Caesar" Weston II (George, Mary (Soule) Peterson, Isaac, Priscilla (Peterson) Weston, Ezra). Come join together with your Soule cousins to witness the dedication as a stone and plaque, honoring George Soule and Mary Beckett, are presented. Reunion attendees will have an opportunity to tour Duxbury following the garden dedication.
The Annual Meeting of Soule Kinded in America will take place late afternoon on Saturday, followed by a banquet. Soule family members may enjoy breakfast together on Sunday morning or participate in the opening ceremonies of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants (GSMD) General Congress.
The GSMD will hold its General Congress from September 8-14, also at the Hotel 1620 in Plymouth. Several other Pilgrim family groups will also be meeting in Plymouth that weekend, so for those of you who belong to more than one group, you may able to attend multiple meetings. GMSD members can check the GSMD website for information about family meetings at https://www.themayflowersociety.org/.
GMSD planned tours, meetings and a banquet will take place Sunday, September 10, through Wednesday, September 13. Information about those events are available on the GMSD website at https://cdn.evbuc.com/eventlogos/167728646/congressinformationpage8.jpg.
NOTE: Family members who want to attend both the Soule Kindred Reunion and the GSMD General Congress will need to submit both registrations. Registration for both events may be completed online.
